Guide for visiting groups to Axminster Task Centre Weycroft Hall
The following points as made to draw your attention to any possible risk you or your group may encounter whilst staying at Weycroft Hall; please note the risks listed are subject to weather conditions etc.
Around the grounds. The grounds around Weycroft are maintained to a high standard and therefore reducing the risk of accidents, however, it must be noted that any area which has been cordoned off whilst necessary maintenance works are carried out, we must ask that these areas are avoided.
Some of the paths and steps can become slippery when wet so care must be taken during these conditions.
The garden walls are safe but we must ask that the children do not climb these, as there is always a risk of falling off.
The carp pond on the top lawn is cordoned off and drained of water, there is however the risk of falling, although the pond is shallow we ask that leaders take responsibility for the children
Inside the Main Hall There is a step down as you enter the front door so care must be taken on entry. This step is clearly defined with yellow and black tape.
There are some steps leading from the entrance hall to the side garden and care should be taken when entering and leaving this door, the potential hazard has been clearly outlined with yellow and black tape.
The ground floor is on a level throughout with the exception of the above mentioned. Due to the age of the building most of the floors are constructed of stone, although these are not normally slippery we recommend that care need to be taken and that in light of this no running in the building is permitted.
Care must be taken when using the stairs and we ask that our guests do not to run up and down them to avoid accidents, due to the nature of the building and age of Weycroft Hall a certain amount of respect must be offered.
